Balance Transfer Credit Card Offers: How to Find the Best Deal
Finding the best 0% APR balance transfer credit card can be a daunting process. However, there are a few rules of thumb that you can follow to make sure you get the best deal. First off, if you intend to use your new credit card for purchases as well as balance transfers, be sure to get a credit card that offers 0% interest for both. Why? If you get a credit card that only offers 0% on balance transfers and use your card for purchases, your payments will go towards the 0% rate while you run up interest charges at a higher rate on purchases.
If you only intend to use your credit card for balance transfers, get a credit card with low balance transfer fees. Recently, the last available credit card offering no fee balance transfers was removed from the market. However, a number of credit card companies charge lower balance transfer fees than other. To find a low fee balance transfer, look for a card with a max fee of $75 per transaction.
Below you will find SmartCreditChoices.com’s picks for the best 0% balance transfer credit cards.

Our Balance Transfer Suggestions
Balance transfer fees can add up, especially if you are transferring
balances from more than one credit card. Unfortunately, there are currently no
credit cards available that offer a 0% APR for 1 year and no fee balance
transfers. However, there are ways to reduce the amount of balance
transfer fees you pay.
The best way to minimize balance transfer fees is to apply for a
credit card with balance transfer fee limits. A number of credit cards
simply charge a 3% fee of each balance transferred with no maximum. This
would mean a $5000 balance transfer would cost $150. With a credit card
that caps balance transfer fees, such as the
Discover More Card, you would only pay $75 for the same transfer.
Lastly, if you are looking to lock in a low rate for a longer period
of time, a no fee fixed APR balance transfer from American Express will
ultimately provide good value over time.
If you would like to view additional 0 APR balance transfer credit
cards, you can view over 30 current offers in the complete
balance transfers section of Smart Credit Choices.
